Down the same row from me was a lady. I noticed that her bright red tablecloths had embroidery using the recognized Disney font. And I could see that she was yet another who was making 'inspired' items.
I went about my business. A few hours into the show, there was a screeching screaming noise from down the row. The sheriff was there, with a few other folks, and they were packing up her items,, down to her infringing tablecloths, into boxes and hauling them away.
The lady was going ballistic at them, but they calmly took her stuff, packed it up and left. She went around yelling that they were hurting her ability to earn money, that she was a small business, etc. If it was another seller and they do not hold the rights they reported you for, you have legal recourse against them for all kinds of business related issues.
But I would talk to a lawyer who specializes in IP infringement. He can explain to you that you do not have permission from Disney, Rowling or anyone else to make and sell these items. To report a shop, a person has to go to the IP holder, not to Etsy.
They, in turn, can choose to or not to file a report to Etsy to have your items removed. My understanding is the email is from the reporting holder and not from Etsy. Etsy is the messenger only. If you think there is an individual on Etsy it is as OneEyeCat says. The person would report to the holder. I doubt the holder would tell you as that might fall under privacy. Many holders do routine searches. I see you repurpose items. It may be possible to get your shop back by filing an appeal with Etsy.

This information could be very helpful to know. Everything else they bump up the support chain to someone who can handle it. The whole hanging up thing is likely just what they have been instructed to do for issues of shop closures. They have a script just like most call center support lines, they have to stick to the script. It's their job. I had my shop suspended 3 weeks ago and of course, I can't post to this forum from there. They said it was because their records show shared information which I believe is a shared IP address so they consider them related.
Every support ticket I have opened, they just open and close. If you call, they read a script and hang up on you. I am a single mom that is a sole proprietorship and have legal proof of this as well. I just was new at the time and didn't know much at all about Etsy, they offered to help set me up. I have read so much on the forums that I have just come to the conclusion that this is what has happened I am so devastated.
