The beautiful Evanora was the former Royal Advisor to the King of Oz before she betrayed and murdered him by poison in attempts to take the Royal Throne for herself. She also is the Pre-Wicked Witch of the East. She successfully manipulates her younger naive sister Theodora the Good to take her side and in a cruel trick transforms her into the green skinned Wicked Witch of the West who at one point believed that Glinda , was the true murderer and true Wicked Witch.
Evanora also convinced the Ozians, specifically the citizens of Emerald City this as well. Evanora wears a magical emerald necklace around her neck at all times that keeps her young and attractive. However, without this necklace the spell would not work and Evanora's true appearance would emerge, into the ugly old hag she truly is.
In the very end good luckily wins over bad and Evanora meets her ugly fate in a brutal battle with Glinda and is ultimately banished from the Emerald City forever with the help of Oscar Diggs who becomes the Wizard of Oz.
Oz: The Great and Powerful. Like in the movie, the two Wicked Witches are sisters. The book begins with her summoning a magical hurricane to destroy all humanity since people, in her opinion, exterminate her food. However, Villina learns of her schemes, and changes the spell to only affect one house her magic book told her it was always empty during storms and drop it on Gingema's head.
Unlike in Baum's books, while being the formal ruler of the Munchkins, she interfered little in their lives, and only demanded that people collect food for her. Since her food was snakes, leeches, spiders, and other similarly disgusting creatures which the Munchkins were afraid of, that was nevertheless a heavy burden for them. In both the Broadway musical, The Wiz , and the Motown production of the same name the Wicked Witch of the East is named Evamene who rules and terrorizes the Munchkins.
In the film version , Evamene was the Muchkinland Park's Department commissioner and she transformed all the Munchkins to works of graffiti as punishment for spray painting on her playground walls.
When Dorothy arrived and killed her in the process, the Munchkins were set free from the curse and turned back to normal. She is the beautiful but physically handicapped born with no arms in the book and paraplegic in musical sister of Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West. She is bald in the books and this is why the Nessa actress in the musical is the only actress without a wig. In both the book and musical, the character is portrayed in a less negative light than in the Baum books or earlier movie, although she becomes fanatical, something of a religious "nut-job" in the books and desperately and manipulatively dependent on the munchkin Boq in musicals so much so that she limits the rights of the Munchkins and ends up being referred to as a 'wicked witch'.
In Roger S. The book was adapted into the animated film Lion of Oz. She died when Dorothy arrived in Oz. She's the creator of the Prison of the Abject.
The ability to lock and unlock the prison died with her, as each Witches' spells are their own. She didn't have an apprentice to pass on the fruits of her tongue, because the Wizard made magic illegal. East seemingly died by being hit by a police car when Dorothy arrived in Oz, but survived the impact in death-like stupor. Once she woke up, she wanted to take revenge on Dorothy as she woke up 'with a strange taste in her mouth' - Dorothy.
She found the girl on the Brick Road and went on to torment her by imprisoning her mind in the Prison of the Abject.
East can control the weather and create tornadoes at will. She can also move objects and has the power to imprison a person, at least mentally, in the Prison of the Abject. This is eventually revealed to have been Dorothy in disguise, though it remains unclear how Dorothy knew how to disguise herself, given that in the film preceding the series she never actually saw her face, only briefly her feet before they shriveled up, leaving the ruby slippers behind.
In part one of the season 3 finale Battle for the Silver Slippers when West follows Dorothy back to the Silver Fortress , East is released from a hidden chamber, which surprises everyone involved. Dorothy appears to recognize who it is she says her name and West calls her sister, the first indication that they are siblings.
In part two, it's clarified she isn't Wilhelmina's mom, calling Wil "niece" and Wil saying "aunties" plurally. West also appears to be competetive, calling East "less talented".
East is still dead though Ozma avoids using the word, saying "y'know" instead but her spirit is able to partly solidify so long as West wears the silver slippers. He commands them to kill the Wicked Witch of the West.
Unless they do this, he will not help them. Dorothy and her friends are distraught, but he insists, and they decide that there is nothing else that they can do but destroy the Witch.
As they are leaving, she asks the Secretary how to find the Witch, who explains that there is no road to her dungeon. Simply by entering her domain, she will know that they are there and will enslave them in her castle. In the dungeon of the Wicked Witch's castle, the Monkeys inform her that Dorothy and friends are nearby. The Witch tries to think of ways to prepare for them, since she cannot harm the girl, due to the slippers.
She comes up with the idea to boil them into a stew and prepares a large cauldron with all of the ingredients "Wicked Witch Stew". Finally, the foursome arrive at the castle but are captured immediately by the Witch. She grabs the Lion and threatens to boil him unless Dorothy hands over the slippers. Realizing that she has no choice, Dorothy removes the slippers and sets them on the ground.
As the Witch goes to pick them up, Dorothy runs over to the Lion and helps him upend the cauldron on the Witch. She begins to melt, because of the hot water inside, and accuses Dorothy of knowing that she would melt. Dorothy apologizes and says that she didn't, but the Wicked Witch is soon gone. Once back in front of Oz, he is surprised to hear that they were successful. He tells them that he needs another day to consider his end of the bargain, but the others refuse to leave.
The Scarecrow has an idea and removes a panel in the room, revealing the Secretary speaking into a microphone. The Secretary confesses that he is not really a wizard, but rather, a hot-air balloonist from a circus in Omaha, Nebraska; he lost his way when when he got caught in a storm in his balloon.
The balloon happened to land in the Emerald City. With no way to get home, he felt as if he had no choice but to stay and pretend to be a magical wizard. He decides to try to help them out. He tells the Scarecrow that he has had a brain all along, he just couldn't think because he was wearing the wrong hat. Instead, he gives him a thinking cap — a colorful clown hat he still has from the circus.
Next, he tells the Tin Man that a heart will bring him unhappiness, but the Tin Man insists. So, Oz gives him a heart-shaped Valentine that he received from a loved one long ago and pins it to the Tin Man's chest, so that everyone can see. Then, for the Lion, he gives him a bottle of Dr. Miracle's Nerve Tonic that they used to sell at the circus. The Lion takes a sip and is overcome with courage.
As for Dorothy, Oz confesses that she is the only one whom he cannot help, since he can't even return home to Nebraska, himself. Just then, Glinda arrives and tells Dorothy that after the Wicked Witch's demise, she went to her castle and found her spell book. Working with James Haggerty and Peter Jenkins , Dorothy tries to come up with a plan, but the Witch breaks free and possesses Jenkins, forcing Haggerty to kill him.
Unable to defeat the Witch, Dorothy casts a spell that binds them. Haggerty works for the rest of his career on finding a way to defeat the Witch and comes up with the idea that poppy seed extract can stun the Witch from the Oz books. He makes a deal with a fairy in case the Witch ever breaks free.
In , the Witch was accidentally freed by Dean and battled the Winchesters, Dorothy and Charlie Bradbury to get the Key and bring her army to Earth. She nearly succeeded but was finally killed by Charlie with the ruby slippers. The Wicked Witch, having come from Oz was able to demonstrate various abilities that witches from this dimension appear to be incapable of. While investigating an ancient computer in the Bunker, Dean accidentally knocks over the bottle containing the spell Dorothy used to bind herself and the Witch, releasing both.
